Guys, 11 consecutive requests for information and noone brings anything to the table to share? Can anything possibly be weaker than that?
You guys have to have experience with the 5-2, you have to have faced the defense, broken it down on film. Share what you know, ask some intelligent questions, talk about defense.
I´ve never seen a forum in my life where people said less than at this one.

I know it´s been a while since this topic has been touched on...but the season draws closer and I was hoping we could get it going again or at least the people with the good info could surface again and at least provide some contact information. Seems most of the email info on the thread is to contact people who want the info, not really those who have it. Thanks!

I have recently submitted an article to GS on the "Okie" 52 slant. I have been running the "Okie" the past 4 yrs and have a combined 38-2 record with 20 shutouts. We have averaged roughly 9 points per game per season over the 4 yrs. I strongly believe in this Defense, our ability to get an Offense back on their heels has been the main reason why we are very successful. In the article I submitted to GS I sent diagrams on our Defensive sets. Even though We are at the JV level, we still have to teach our defense to 45-50 young men every season. It is a very simple defense to run, but one that is very hard to stop. We have beaten higher ranked teams in our areas, teams that were bigger faster and had more talent. But with the scouting that we do and the way we go about preparing our boys, 38 teams have gone down to defeat. Our only loses came the past two seasons, both were on last second desperation passes where our DB simply got beat. If there is a flaw in this defense it would be in the passing game if you do not have good cover backs. we bring so much pressure that our backs have to be able to play the pass first, we never ask them to give run support, we believe that is we can´t stop an offense with 8 in the box, then we should not be coaching football. the key to the 50 slant and angle is not so much the linebacker reads ( much the same out of the reg. 5-2 ) Michigan,s old 50 slant and angle has more to do with the aiming point of the linemen and their path to one yard deep reading point. V of the neck (slant) and the hip ( angle) of the linemen that they are going to attack. one (slant is to keep the off.linemen out of the linebackers way and the other (angle ) is a way to get the linemen in the back field and cause havoc. this defense is great -VS- a wing team. you have my e-mail etc.. if you would like to talk more about this
