This is a very effective multi-option play. Your QB and FB should work on the ball-handling fundamentals that are needed for this play every day in practice to properly execute the handoffs and fakes.

Player Responsibilities:

Offensive Line: Must remember not to block the last man on the LOS. They must use a zone scheme to handle the rest of the defensive front and must get movement to create a seam between themselves and the DE.
Fullback: Attacks the outside hip of the the DG and runs like he has the ball, trying to break arm tackles. If the FB gets the ball, he should feel the ball as he runs. The longer he has the ball, the more he should squeeze it. If he feels a constant tug on the ball by the QB, he should let go so the QB can pull out.
Quarterback: Must stay flat down the line as he executes his read. He should find the FB, then quickly locate the DE. Read the DE's shoulders, pull and get his own shoulders square to the LOS and either pull the ball and run or pitch it. Once the QB pulls it, he should also locate the FS for his pitch read.
Tailback: Maintains a good 5-yard pitch-relationship with the QB.
Receivers: All receivers must stalk block until they hear
the whistle.
