This is a very effective play for short yardage situations or can be run at any time during the game.
PLAYER ASSIGNMENTS:
Quarterback: Does a pre-snap read from the free safety through the weak-side linebacker. Takes a 3-step drop and checks through his progression. On weak-side blitzes, must be ready to throw to the hot receiver (FB). Fullback: Pushes hard upfield to a depth of 6-yards. Can break off either inside or outside. Is the hot receiver on blitzes. Tailback: Runs a flare route. Receiver X: Runs a deep out route. Against a cover 2 will run a fade route. Receiver Y: Releases outside, runs a corner route. Receiver Z: Pushes hard upfield 6 yards, reads the defense, then breaks either inside or outside.
